The chair does not stand in the waiting area but in a room of its own, with a window and a closed door. For the time you have booked it is yours alone — the programme ends by itself, so you need not watch the clock.

When to speak to us beforehand
brainLight states usage notes for its systems. They concern two parts separately: the massage and the light of the glasses. Either can be left out on its own — just tell us, and we will choose a suitable programme.
Without the massage
The manufacturer advises against the massage function in pregnancy, with acute back problems, osteoporosis, thrombosis and venous disorders, and from a body weight of 140 kg. The chair then only reclines.
Without the light glasses
You should do without the light if you have epilepsy or a similar tendency to seizures, if you are sensitive to light, if you wear a pacemaker, and as a precaution during pregnancy. The programme works through the headphones without the glasses too.

What does brainLight cost?
Ten minutes cost 5 €, twenty minutes 10 €. It is a self-pay service; health insurance does not contribute. You pay on site at the practice.
Do I have to be a patient of the practice?
Not for the booking: the appointment can be booked on Doctolib on its own, without an existing course of treatment and without a practice appointment.
Where does the session take place?
Only in Duisburg-Rheinhausen, Kreuzacker 1–7, in the medical centre at the Johanniter hospital. It is not available in Wesel or Mönchengladbach.
Is this a medical treatment?
No. brainLight is a relaxation service offered by our practice. It does not replace a medical examination, any treatment or physiotherapy.
What should I keep in mind beforehand?
Come a few minutes early — the first time, our team will briefly show you the controls. Comfortable clothing is more pleasant. If any of the points above applies to you, say so beforehand: we will then choose a programme without massage or without light.
